Hello Lovelies, It's only Tuesday and it's been snowy and raining and below zero and 40 already this week. As you can tell, I'm thrilled (sarcasm at it's finest). With this yucky weather taking naturally lit looking photos is next to impossible, but I recently discovered a new app that is changing the game. With this discovery I would like to add a new installment to Something Shannon, every once in a while I will share my favorite apps with you, let me know what you think and if there are any apps you recommend!
I'm sure you have heard of A Beautiful Mess (if you haven't check them out immediately! They are the most beautifully inspiring lifestyle blog on the internet and I can't get enough of them). They are the ladies behind this incredible app filled with whitening and brightening filters and tools, called A Color Story (cute right?). Currently they are averaging 4 stars for their ratings on Apple's App Store, but for my purposes I would give it 5! I typically use Photoshop to edit all my photos for my blog and Instagram, but when I'm on the go it's nice to have another option.
My favorites features of this app include the editing tools and filters. A Color Story has a great variety of editing tools including the typical: brightness, contrast, saturation, blur, sharpen and vignette options, but beyond that there are also tools for grain, exposure, shadow, midtown and high color, hue shift, tint, temperature, clarity and get this, curves! Curves are one of my favorite editing tools on Photoshop, and having an app on my phone with this tool is a total dream.
They also have a ton of awesome filters that brighten your photos, giving them the natural light they originally lacked. The essentials package comes free with the app and includes 10 brightening filters along with a classic black and white one. There are several other filter packages available for small fees as well, I purchased the 'Fresh' package and absolutely love it.
The photos below were edited with A Color Story, the dark filmy looking half of the photo is the unedited version and the brighter (and beautiful) part shows the magic of the edits!
What are your favorite photo editing apps?
