It’s the time of year when the leaves fall off the trees and as the earth re-starts, we re-start a little too. With Christmas just around the corner there’s just a little more joy in the air. We’re setting goals, making plans, and finding the perfect gift for our loved ones. And with Thanksgiving coming up just next week a lot of us are probably thinking about what we are thankful for this year, trying to pin-point what we’re going to say when an uncle asks at Thanksgiving dinner, “What are you thankful for?” I’ve been thinking a lot about this myself. This past year has transformed me in more ways than I can count. I’ve grown in myself and in my relationship with Christ, and for that, I have a long list of gratitudes this Thanksgiving. So today I want to share just a few of the people and/or things I am incredibly grateful for this year, and hopefully encourage you to do the same. And of course, I’m also linking my 2018 Thanksgiving outfit if you’re needing some inspo! Stick around ‘til the end for the links!
I’m thankful for my mom and her constant encouragement. I don’t think many kids grow up with a parent who is as supportive as she has always been. For as long as I can remember she has encouraged me to shine my light my way and for that, I am forever and always grateful.
I’m thankful for my dad, who teaches me about hard work and kindness still, on a daily basis. Growing up we always butted heads, so whenever anyone would tell me “you’re just like your dad!” I would cringe. But now, I take it as one of the greatest compliments I could receive.
I’m thankful for my little brother, Sean. We have a unique relationship. I don’t know many brother-sister duos like us. He’s the best brother in the world, he takes almost all of the photos you see of me here on the blog and on social media and encourages me on a daily basis.
I’m thankful for Mark. I have to give him a special shout-out. Sometimes, once in a while, you meet someone who changes your entire world for the better. And he is that person for me. He challenges me to be a better version of myself and to take chances I probably never would have without his love. He’s the most positive person I know and I truly believe his smile is changing the world everyday.
I’m thankful for my education. For the professors I have, for the facility I attend, for the friends, memories, and oppurtunites I am gaining here. One year ago, this is exactly where I didn’t want to be. But today, I’m so thankful I am where I am. It’s exactly where I am meant to be.
I’m thankful for friendship. If I were to sit here and list off the names of all the friends I’m thankful for, and why, it would take hours for me to type and for you to read. So I’m just going to sum it up like this: my friends are among the best things in my life, they are so much of the reason I am who I am, and I am so blessed and thankful everyday for each and every one of them. You guys know who you are. ‘
I’m thankful for ice cream. Sounds silly, I know. But if you know me, you know ice cream has a different meaning in my world. Ice cream equates to long hours, hard work, crazy customers, crazier (but incredible) co-workers, and a
I’m thankful for my ever-changing, ever-growing journey with Jesus Christ. I’m thankful for His constant love and His sacrifice for us all.
And now, I just have to take a moment to share this gorgeous UNDER $20 jumpsuit with you guys! Jumpsuits are my all time fav holiday outfit option. I’m honestly not much of a dress fan in the winter, I get WAY too cold. But jumpsuits are the best of both worlds. They look classy, keep you warm, and are so incredibly comfortable! This gorgeous mustardy/golden jumpsuit literally feels like PJS, plus it’s super stretchy, perfect for the post-thanksgiving-meal-food-baby. No need to unbutton your pants! And did I mention it’s under $20? I’m mentioning it again.
Alright, that’s all from me today! I hope you are having a great week and I hope I could inspire you to take a moment sometime soon to reflect on what you are a thankful for this year!
