Blogmas Day 13: December Sephora Play

Finals week is kicking my butt you guys. I'm running low on energy and sleep and I think I'm getting sick. So when I came home to the December Sephora Play box I basically jumped up and down like a little girl in a candy shop. It was just what I needed to give me a little burst of happiness, and luckily what I found inside made my day even better!

Makeup Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Smoothing Primer

I was excited to see a product by Makeup Forever included in this month's box. I'm completely obsessed with their foundations and I've heard very good things about this primer as well. The little informative sheet included with the box describes this primer as "a silky primer that helps makeup last longer while the targeted formula balances skin's texture, resulting in a smoother, more even look."

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

When I think of setting sprays this one immediately comes to mind. But, because of its price tag I've never given it a try.  Until now! This sample is actually a pretty decent size and I can't wait to try it out! It's described as a "weightless setting spray that prevents makeup from fading, smudging and settling into fine lines for a touch-up free finish."

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara

Seriously, I am SO impressed with the brands included in this month's box! BOBBI BROWN! I've never tried anything by this brand because, as Kathleen Lights would say, "das essspensive"! So yes I'm pretty pumped about this product as well. It's described as "jet black, kohl-pigmented mascara that delivers high-impact volume with a smudge-free formula."

Dry Bar Detox Dry Shampoo

When I was shopping around the Sephora app the other day I actually spent a lot of time scrolling through the Dry Bar line. I've been spending a lot more time on my hair these days and dry shampoos are  an essential at this point! I can't wait to try more higher end products like this one! This dry shampoo is a "lightweight dry shampoo that extends the life of blowouts by absorbing oils, adding body and leaving hair feeling fresh and clean."

Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain

I gotta be honest. I was super disappointed with this product out of everything in the box! I loved everything else, they were all nice sizes, but this one is too tiny! I mean it is super cute, but come on Sephora, it's your own brand! Make it bigger! Anyway, besides that little flaw this actual product is very nice. I have several other cream lip stains by Sephora Collection and they are som of my favorite liquid lipsticks on the market! Highly recommend!

I will update soon with my thoughts on the products in this box. Overall I was really impressed. This was definitely my favorite box I have received so far. I LOVE the bag and will definitely use it a lot more than the others, plus the products were all very high end and good sizes (besides the lip stain!!).

I hope everyone's having a great week!

7 Lippies Perfect for Fall

Fall Lippie Favorites I have missed you guys so much!!! What a week this has been (like every other week). But, I'm so excited, because today I get to share my top favorites lipstick shades for fall! Now, I just want to let you all know from the start... when I picked out these products I really tried to choose a variety of colors, formulas and price points! So if you're only in it for the drug store game, you will not be disappointed! But just for kicks I added a few high end products too! I really hope I could hit all the high points for the fall lipstick game and I hope you enjoy this post!

Fall Lippie Favorites

Starting off with the liquid lips. Like I said I really tried to reach a wide price range for these lippies, and all but one of these four are under $10!

The first picks I made were definitely the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips! The two colors I chose are Times Square and Viper. Both of these shades are a part of the new fall line and I am OBSESSED with them both! If you have yet to try the Colourpop liquid lip formula, I would say it's very similar to that of the Kylie liquid lipsticks or Anastasia's. Although, I find that they do dry out my lips a bit after a long day of wear. I still really love the formula and color selection and they are definitely worth the price of just $6! Anyways, Times Square is the perfect nude, in my humble opinion! I find that super light nudes completely wash out my skin tone, so this cool toned slightly darker shade is perfect for me.  I wanted to include something other than mauvey nudes, and Viper called my name! I love this lipstick because it fits the berry red trend of fall without being too dark for my fair complexion.

Fall Lippie Favorites

The next liquid lipstick in the bunch is one of my favorite drug store lip products of all time, the Milani Amore Matte Lip Creams! I went with the color Precious, which is definitely wearable all year round, but seems even more perfect for the fall/winter season. Precious is a little bit darker than the average mauve shade and that's what I love the most about it. I really feel like this shade is wearable with any makeup look or outfit. Other than the color, the formula of these lipsticks is phenomenal! It does have a very creamy, almost mousey consistency, but don't let that put you off. When applied on the lips it thins out to a nice texture and lasts for HOURS!

Fall Lippie Favorites

My final liquid lipstick pick is, of course, the Kylie Liquid Lipstick in Candy K. How could I not include this? Not only is it the liquid lipstick of the times, but it's also a gorgeous shade! It's taupey cool tones create such a unique lip pairing for the cooler months. I literally can't stop wearing it. As previously mentioned, the formula does remind me a lot of the Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lips, but it is a little less drying in my opinion. It lasts  a very long time on the lips and is super transfer proof! Check out my full review here!

Fall Lippie Favorites

Annnnnd for the non-liquid lipstick wearers (or the every kind of lipstick wearers!)...

For my first pick I want to talk about a little random dupe I found! So I chose two of my absolute favorite lipsticks of ALL TIME to be in this post, Colourpop X Kathleen Lights Lumiere Lippie Stick and Urban Decay's Backtalk. And it honestly wasn't until I was swatching them all next to each other for the pictures that I realized these two are complete dupes, in not only their shade, but also almost identically in formula. Both of these beautiful lippies are the definition of the perfect mauve, and they both have the most comfortable creamy formula. The only differences I notice are, of course, the packaging and if I think long and hard about the formula, Backtalk is a little creamier and less drying. But otherwise everything else is the same, well, except for the fact that Lumiere if $5 (FIVE FREAKIN DOLLARS!) and Backtalk is $17. (*Insert shocked emoji here*) But seriously these are two of my holy grail lipsticks and I highly recommend them for any day of the year, but especially for fall! (Also, one last side note* Lumiere is currently sold out on the Colourpop website, I will link it anyway and hopefully they restock soon.)

Fall Lippie Favorites

The final lip favorite I have for the autumnal months is Nars Dolce Vita! If you've been around for a while you know that Dolce Vita on top of Marc Jacob's Prim Rose is pretty much the love of my life. But, I also adore Dolce Vita on its own! Both the lip pencil and lip stick versions are the most beautiful, creamy formula and I love throwing them on for my light makeup days! This one's for my sheer lipstick lovers! I highly highly recommend this lovely shade.

Well that's all I have for today!

I'd love to hear your favorite lipsticks for fall! Tweet me, comment, send me an email!
