Hello Lovelies! This last month has flew by for me. I have been so incredibly busy over the last few weeks so I want to share a little life update on where I have been and what exactly I have been doing the last few weeks.
First of all I graduated high school! Whoo hoo I’m done! It has been such a bittersweet time saying goodbye to friends, attending graduation parties and graduation ceremonies and events. I’ve never been the type of person who wants to get out of this town as fast as possible, so it’s been a little hard to say goodbye to classmates I’ve grown up with since Kindergarten. Luckily I’m attending school in my home town so the transition won’t be as hard. Other than graduation I’ve been adjusting to summer life, sleeping in, all that fun stuff. My family and I enjoyed a nice weekend on the lake over memorial day at our cabin in Wisconsin. I’ve also been doing a lot of planning for my graduation party in July (a blog post will be done on the decorations and DIY projects no worries!) and doing a lot more of what I call “adulting.” I recently started my second job working at an ice cream shop and am continuing to work at the restaurant I’ve been at since I was 15. I’m also anxiously awaiting the return of my boyfriend, Mark! He’s currently on a 3 week vacation in Mexico and needless to say I miss him a lot.
Anyway that’s what’s up with me! I’m so excited for this new chapter in my life and the role blogging will play in it. I have some fun posts lined up for the next couple weeks and I can’t wait to share them with you! But for now here’s May’s favorites….
So I was pretty skeptical when I had heard several of my favorites beauty v/bloggers raving about Wet n Wild’s recent releases. I always kind of thought it was one of those cheap brands with no real quality. Oh was I wrong. I have been wearing this blush on a daily basis throughout the last month. It always adds the perfect amount of color and a hint of a shine to the apples of my cheeks. Plus it blends out so nicely and although it has wonderful pigment, the color isn’t overpowering. I was also a little skeptical of this color when I picked it up, but it’s bronzy tones make this blush looks so natural on the skin. definitely recommend picking up some of Wet n Wild’s blushes! I will be getting more very soon!
Another bang for your buck product! I have been a fan of the Fit me! Line for quite some time now. I’m a huge fan of the concealer and have been really loving the setting powder for setting my under eyes. Yet again Maybelline has impressed me. First of all, you cannot beat the price. Even at the drugstore many foundations still range from $10-15, at $5.99 this foundation is well worth the few bucks spent. With a huge shade range (I believe there are 27 shades) and natural coverage I have been adding this foundation to my daily routine. The only downside I have with this product is the fact that the packaging doesn’t have a pump. But the price and quality make up for it!
I have been interested in picking up a setting spray of some sort for a while, but I wasn’t looking to pay an arm and a leg for something I would only use every once in a while. This drug store pick up has proved to work great! As the reviews suggest this setting spray has a very fine mist and really does really improve the wear of my makeup. On the long nights I have used this I have found even my winged liner to stay in place til the bitter end. I’m definately on the setting spray band wagon now!
This duo. Oh.my.gosh. I received both of these products in the Sephora Favorites Gimme Nude Lip a few months ago and I have fallen in love with these two products together. To achieve the look I like to fill my lips with primrose and go over it with the sheer dolce vita. I’ve been thrilled with both the color and formula of both products. Primrose a gorgeous matte cool toned mauvey nude that lasts for ages on my lips without any drying, and Dolce Vita is the perfect sheer nude, sometimes I even like to go for a lighter look and wear this on its own. I’ve seriously been reaching for this duo so much that my Primrose sampler size is almost gone. Which means...another trip to Sephora is in the near future!
This favorite feature is so overdue. So funny story, I picked this concealer up a few months ago and fell in love with it within days. And for some odd reason I completely thought I had put it in my favorites way back then, but it turns out I never did! Which is just not okay because this stuff is bomb. I want to talk a little bit about the Maybelline Fit Me dupe. You’ve heard me say again and again that I love my Fit Me concealer and I really do, and I also agree that it’s a pretty close dupe to this one. I have found however that the Nars formula is a bit longer lasting and has higher coverage, which is pretty much expected since it’s nearly 5X the price. So although I still love the Fit Me, on days I want longer and higher coverage I reach for this stuff. Vanilla is a perfect color match for my skin and I’ve been super impressed with the fact that this is an all over concealer. I find that is does a wonderful job setting my under eyes and covering any redness/dark spots/blemishes, I love me those do it all products!
