Hello Everyone, My oh my, it’s already Saturday! I hope you're having a fantastic weekend, sorry for a later post this week! I’ve been battling yet another awful cold and I am currently sitting on my couch typing up a storm with a NEW PUPPY on my lap! So yeah, that's exciting and crazy time-consuming! Before I get to the actual content of this post I want to share a quick pic and introduce my new little buddy, Tucker. He's the absolute sweetest stinker of a 7 week old german shepard puppy I have ever met, I hope you guys love him as much as I do!
Now that I got that taken care of (he's just so cute I can't stop looking at him!!) I want to talk about resolutions. I know, I’m a little late to hop on this bandwagon. It’s already February, everyone’s already gotten their resolutions started. But the truth is I hate resolutions, they never work for me. I have seen the new trend of choosing a word as opposed to a resolution and I liked it. So I toyed with the idea of choosing a word instead but couldn’t think of one to sum up all the things I want out of this next year of my life. That is until last weekend. I went skiing for the first time with my boyfriend. We went to this cute little ski resort in Wisconsin, I rented some skis, headed over to the bunny hill for a lesson, fully prepared to immediately become a pro skier. What ended up actually happening was, I fell on my butt about 20 times, only went down the easy courses (pizza slicing the entire way), and went home with three huge bruises down my leg. I cried a little, I laughed a lot, and I learned.
I have always been the cautious one, the clumsy one, the un-athletic one. I don't like to do anything rebellious or dangerous and I never really have. But I don’t want to be the girl who sits nervously on the sidelines. I want to get out there like I did on Saturday. I want to take a few chances, push my body to its limits and simply be adventurous.
So there you have it, my word for 2016 is… Adventure.
I've created a short list (that will grow) of the 'adventurous' things I want to do in 2016…
- Go biking
- Go hiking
- Go camping, like really camping, not in a camper or campground
- Do yoga daily
- Go on long runs in nature
Here's to new adventures! I'd love to hear suggestions to add to my little adventure list. Shoot me a tweet or email, or comment below!
