I hope you all have had a lovely Sunday! Mine was wonderful. I woke up and the sun was shining so bright. I headed off to church and then went to breakfast with Mark (where I had the best gluten free pancakes). Later in the afternoon I organized my makeup table and pulled out some old favorites. I typically I talk about newer products on here, but I want to start talking a little more about some of my long time favorites. It's easy to get caught up in the newest product on the market, but there are so many favorites of mine already stashed away in my makeup drawers I have yet to share with you. The first one I want to share with you today is the Lorac Pro Palette.
When I first started getting into makeup a couple years ago a friend of mine recommended this palette to me. I checked it out and was astonished by the velvet like formula, so I decided to purchase it. Since then it has become, (dare I say it?) my favorite shadow palette in my collection. Yep, that’s right! I love it more than the Tartelette in Bloom Palette (which you guys know I cannot get enough of)!
The palette comes with 16 gorgeous neutral colors ranging from soft nudes to deep browns and blues. It’s packaging is super compact and sleek and comes with a pretty huge mirror, perfect for travel. Besides the beautiful color selection the best thing about these shadows is their pigmentation. With or without primer they last beautifully. When I know I’m going to be having a long day or night out this palette is my ultimate go to.
There are a couple of teeny downsides to this palette, but they have no bearing on my personal opinion. First of all due to the sleek black packaging it goes get very ‘dusty’ with shadow fall out and smudges. Which leads me to the second con, the shadows have a lot of fall out. They are so pigmented that if you do not tap your brush before application your lid will be consumed by a certain color, and also within the palette shadow dust collects in each pan.
Onto the swatches!
White, Cream, Nude, Champagne:
These four little guys are probably my most used pans of the palette. They are super blendable and gorgeous for everyday wear. I have heard some people say that champagne doesn’t have the same gorgeous formula as the others but I haven’t noticed a clear difference. My favorite of this little bunch is Nude, it adds the perfect little sparkle to any look.
Taupe, LT Pink, Gold, LT Bronze:
Being the second lightest area of the palette this is probably my second most used section. The two I use and love the most are by far Taupe and LT Bronze, they are both super blendable and just plain beautiful. Gold isn’t my favorite of the mix, but it is nice if you’re looking for a shadow that is straight up gold, not a rosegold or bronzey shade (which I prefer). I also really enjoy LT Pink but for some reason have never used it much, I’m trying to more often now!
Mauve, Sable, Pewter, Garnet:
Ugh just looking at this makes me want to cover my eyelids in it! (Such a pretty rosegold-y combo amiright!?) These four are the perfect combo if you ask me. It’s hard for me to pick a favorite here because I love them all! But if I had to choose it would be between Mauve and Pewter. Mauve is beautiful when blended with LT Pink (or on it’s own too!). Although I'm really started to get a special spot for Garnet as well!
Espresso, Black, Deep Purple, Slate:
So I have to admit it. I hardly touch this end of the palette, I'm a super neutral shadow girl and these are quite the opposite. But each shade makes for a lovely smudged liner look! Espresso is definitely my favorite. I have also used black a few times but have yet to touch Slate and Deep Purple. This collection is perfect for a dramatic cool smokey eye.
