Hello lovelies! I want to quickly update you guys on my crazy life and explain a little bit as to why this July Favorites post isn't up until August! In a nutshell this last week has been extremely stressful and busy for me. As August begins many of my high school friends and my boyfriend are headed off to college in the following weeks, so I have been trying to spend as much time as possible with them. I also start college in about 3 weeks myself and although I'm going to a community college just 20 minutes from my house and plan to stay at home for the next two years, I still have lots of loose ends to tie up! To top things off I started serving tables at my job this last week therefore I have been working and training a lot. So long story short I'm running low on sleep and time! I just keep trying to reminding myself of how blessed I am to have these opportunities, but in the moment it is very overwhelming.
In this busy time Hillary Scott's recent song has really been inspiring through this time, it reminds me so clearly that no matter what God's plan is great and thy will be done. My favorites lines of the song are: "I know you're good, but this don't feel good right now. I know you think things I could never think about. It's hard to count it all joy, distracted by the noise, just trying to make sense of all your promises. Sometimes I gotta stop and remember you are God, and I am not."
Anyway enough about me! I have several products to talk about that I have been loving this last month! Let's get into it!
If you follow me on any social media platform (if you don't you can with the icons in the sidebar!) you know I've been wearing this lipstick literally every single day. I mentioned it just a couple posts ago when I picked it up in my Sephora haul, but after wearing it for a few weeks now I'm just going to make it official: this is my favorite lipstick I have ever used. Not only is the color and packaging gorgeous, but the formula itself wears like a dream. Backtalk is the comfort matte formula, one of several formulas included in Urban Decay's new range. When they say comfort they mean it! It doesn't dry out my lips whatsoever, lasts a decent amount of time on the lips and applies quickly and easily! I can't wait to try out some more from this line!! Real Techniques Expert Face Brush $8.99
Wait whaaaat? Shannon's actually using a brush for foundation?? I'm shocked at myself! I have never ever in my life been a brush gal when it comes to applying my base. I much prefer a beauty sponge or even my fingers! But this affordable brush may change that! I love using this brush to blend out my Makeup Forever stick foundation. I find myself reaching for this brush more and more, I'm so excited to enter the world of foundation brushes!! Wet n' Wild Coloricon Blush in Mellow Wine $2.93
If you saw my July favorites you're probably confused as to why I'm mentioning this incredible blush againnnn. Well because I cannot get enough of these $2.99 blushes! I have been loving the shade Rose Champagne for a few months ago, but recently I picked this one up in the shade Mellow Wine. And I love it even more. As opposed to Rose Champagne this shade is matte and applies with much more pigment. When applied lightly it gives such a natural blush it's unreal! I highly recommend checking these blushes out! I plan to pick up the rest of the range sometime very soon.
I picked this up a few months ago at Ulta and wasn't really expecting too much from it. I just needed a new body scrub and this one called my name! But what a pleasant surprise this was. First of all I love the smell of this! It's one of those washes that leaves your skin smelling good even after you leave the shower! Secondly the formula of this product applies the perfect consistency of exfoliant. I actually feel like I'm scrubbing away the dead skin, but not to the point where it's overly rough or not rough enough.
Batiste Dry Shampoo $5.99
Throughout my life I have always had to wash my hair on a daily basis. Seriously as gross as it sounds my head is an oily mess. Before trying Batiste I had tried several other dry shampoos and truly found them to do little to nothing for my hair. But this dry shampoo has changed the game ladies and gentlemen! Just a few sprays on my roots allows my hair to soft and clean for 2 (sometimes even 3!!) days. Plus the bottles are so adorable, I really want to try the one covered in cherries! I'm so excited to finally have found a dry shampoo that saves me time in the morning and keeps my hair from becoming so oily so fast.
