Wowza, it's been a long time since I've posted! My crazy life has been a little crazier over the last two weeks. What's new? It's weird to type this because I've gotten used to blogging with craziness, but these last couple weeks I have been in a kind of a lull. I guess you could call it "writers block," but it wasn't really that! I've just been feeling exhausted and un-inspired. And then the feelings of being disappointed in myself just kept stacking up on each other. Maybe it's been the dreary weather? Who knows! But I'm feeling better now and I'm thrilled to be back. I'm excited to kick my new blogging spurt off with a much anticipated post!!
I finally gave in. I finally purchased something from Kylie Cosmetics! I have to be honest and say that when she first came out with her brand I had very little interest in purchasing anything from it. The amount of crazy hype that surrounded them just wasn't something I felt the need to be part of and also, with the inconsistency of reviews I just decided I didn't need to waste my money. But as her brand has grown and the hype has subsided (a little), I have heard that the quality of her products has also gotten much better. So when she had free shipping a couple weeks ago I thought, why not! I decided not to get one of the iconic kit in my first order because I'm really not much of a lip liner girl. But I love liquid lipsticks, so I picked up one of her single liquid lipsticks in the shade Candy K.
Candy K is such a gorgeous color. I debated between several shades on the website but I'm very glad I chose this one. It's a really nice cool toned pinky nude, which is pretty much the only color I wear these days! As far as the formula is concerned, I would agree with reviewers that describe it as being very liquidy, similar to the Colourpop formula. But, I find that it is far less drying and does not crumble on the lips (but I still highly recommend exfoliating and moisturzing your lips before wear). It applies very smoothly with full opacity in just one swipe and it also dries quite quickly with a very matte finish. In terms of longevity it lasted pretty evenly on my lips throughout most of my day. But after 4+ hours of wear and eating I did have to do some touching up. Also, it's pretty darn transfer proof! I did notice it bled a little on the lips, which is probably why she sells them in kits with a lip liner!
So overall, I'm really impressed with the formula and presentation of the Kylie Cosmetics liquid lipsticks! I would definitely recommend checking them out and can't wait to purchase more of my own in the near future!
