I’m back with another Friday favorites! I’ll be honest, I was being really hard on myself earlier this week. I didn’t reach my January goals, not even close. I didn’t stick to my content calendar, I didn’t finish any books, I spent a lot of days curled up in bed. But it’s February now and I’m excited for a fresh start. What better way to kick off a new month than with sharing a few of my current favorite things!?
1.) Dried Chick Peas
I know what you’re thinking…ew, what, why? HEAR ME OUT! I’ve been devouring the Good Bean dried chickpeas lately. They come in so many delicious flavors, they’re gluten free, protein packed and SO yummy! My favorite flavors are sweet chili and sweet cinnamon. The sweet chili ones are amazing in a salad (paired with my favorite dressing Just Chipolte Ranch (gluten free + vegan)) and the cinnamon remind me of cinnamon toast crunch, my ALL TIME favorite cereal. If you’re looking for a healthy snack option these are bomb!
So if you haven’t heard, let me edumacate you…it’s been cold in the midwest this week. Like really cold. Like -55 cold…INSANE, I know! Anyway, I’ve been loving on these Sorel boots since last winter but they have been such a staple this winter. They keep my toesies so warm and I get compliments every time I wear them! I will admit they are a little investment, but they are on SALE and honestly so worth it. If you’re on a budget but still want the look, I’ll link a budget friendly pair my mom has been loving!
3.) The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey
Sick of hearing about podcasts yet? I hope not, cause I won’t stop talking about or listening to them! Lately I’ve been seriously binging the Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey. Every week Jamie sits down with a “girlfriend” and talks about an array of topics. And let me tell you, they get DEEP. She’s had dozens of amazing and inspirational on the show including Jenna Kutcher, Catherine Lowe, and Mary Beth Chapman (this episode will make you BAWL). I always end every episode feeling inspired, uplifted, and excited about the life I live!
4.) Marie Kondo
YES. I DID IT. I WATCHED IT. I FELL FOR HER SPELL. I don’t know what it is about this adorable woman, but she make you want to get rid of all the crap (s’cuse my french) you didn’t know you didn’t need. It’s magic. I’ve been purging big time with the days off school this week and wow, it feels GOOD.
5.) 7 Rings
Okay…so this probably isn’t what you’d expect from me! It’s not some cutesy country love song, and most definitely isn’t Lauren Daigel. But you guys, I LOVE this song. I know there has been a little controversy over it, so let me explain my thoughts. This song is a GIRL’s song. It encourages the idea that girls can be successful too. And I know, it’s a little exaggerated, some of the lyrics are a little obnoxious and a little vulgar. But I truly love the idea behind it. Also, I want to ask you this, how many songs have you heard where a MAN is singing about his success? About his riches? And did you look down on him? (Jumpin’ off my soapbox now!)
Happy weekend loves!
