Today was a beautiful, sunny, snowy day here in Illinois and I thoroughly enjoyed every part of it. My church hosted its annual “Turkey Drop,” a charity event in which we collect turkeys, hams and other holiday meal items to donate to families in need throughout the community. We ended the day with over 160 turkeys/hams and enough donations to feed over 800 people this holiday season. I continue to be so amazed by and proud of my small community each and every year as we close out this event. It is truly remarkable. I was reminded over and over again that God is so so good. “With God all things are possible.” -Matthew 19:26
In other news, with Thanksgiving coming this Thursday and dozens of Holiday parties following in December I have been finding myself reaching for my e.l.f Studio Long-Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadows a lot lately. I stumbled upon these little guys during one of my many trips to the aisles of Target’s cosmetics department. I always seem to find myself in the e.l.f section and have been a fan of e.l.f products for a long time now, for many reasons, the main one being the price. Most e.l.f products range from $1-$15.
Last winter, on a whim, I purchased these shadows and have since been thrilled by them. They are $3 each and come in seven sparkly shades. I have them in Toast and Soiree and really love the tones of both. Toast is a basic gold color, but unlike other gold tones I’ve tried (such as Urban Decay’s Naked Palette’s Half Baked) it is extremely glittery, and the that sparkle lasts! The same goes for Soiree which is more of a pinky mauve. I love these shadows for the holidays (or any party really) because of this. The extra sparkle adds a whole new statement to a black party dress. The shadows are creamy, easily blended on top of other shadows and are best applied with a small eyeshadow brush.
